Mayfield Man Charged with Attempted Murder
By West Kentucky Star Staff
MAYFIELD - A man police say fired shots two months ago into the duplex where a Mayfield woman was killed in June has been arrested.

The Mayfield Police Department arrested 27-year-old Dimetri Ross, of Mayfield, this week and charged him with the May 12 attempted murder of Jerrod Powell, who was living on West Lee Street at the time.

Police say Stanford Shelton remains at large, and currently has a warrant for his arrest for his connection with the May shooting.

Twenty-three-year-old Savannah Hancock was killed in a drive-by shooting last month at the same duplex. Hancock suffered a gunshot wound to her neck on the night of June 18. She died three days later at an Evansville hospital.

Anyone with information concerning Shelton’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the Mayfield Police Department at (270) 247-1621.
