A Mayfield man was arrested Friday on burglary and other charges.

Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon reports that at around 11:15 am Friday his office received a call of a burglary in progress at the old Cardinal Drive In. The caller reportedly told police they had seen a white male exiting the business carrying boxes. Police said that when the man realized he had been seen, he fled in a silver minivan. The caller followed the van and was able to get a plate number, which came back to 44-year-old Bryan Dillon of Mayfield.

Deputies were able to locate the van on Housman Street and a pursuit followed. The van drove through the parking lot of Boyd’s store at a high rate of speed, where a pedestrian was almost struck. The driver of the van then left the roadway and cut through the parking lot of Driver Motors before he was stopped.

Police said the driver of the van was identified as Dillon, and property from the business was recovered.

Dillon was charged with burglary 3rd degree, tampering with physical evidence, fleeing or evading police 1st degree (motor vehicle), reckless driving, wanton endangerment 1st degree, and wanton endangerment 1st degree (police officer).
