Mayfield Man Injured in Crash With Deer

A Mayfield man was hurt Saturday morning in a crash involving a deer.

Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon said deputies responded at around 4:30 am to a single-vehicle crash on State Route 131 in the Hickory area.

Deputies said 28-year-old year old Carl A. Garrigus of Mayfield was traveling north on State Route 131 when a deer ran across the road in front of his vehicle. Garrigus’ vehicle struck the deer, causing his airbag to deploy. 

Garrigus was taken to the Jackson Purchase Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
