A Mayfield man was arrested Monday night on methamphetamine charges.

A joint investigation by the Graves County Sheriff's Office, McCracken County Sheriff's Office and the DEA led to the arrest of 44-year-old Fred Jackson of Mayfield.

Deputies said Jackson was arrested after he allegedly tried to sell methamphetamine to undercover detectives on North 6th Street in Mayfield.

Jackson was lodged in the Graves County Jail on charges of trafficking methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police say Jackson has three prior convictions for trafficking in a controlled substance.
