Mayfield Mini Golf Looking for Hole Sponsors
By WestKyStar Staff
MAYFIELD, KY - The City of Mayfield is looking for hole sponsors for the opening of its new miniature golf course in late August/early September. The course, a combined venture of city and county governments, is offering the hole sponsorships as a way to fund the maintenance and staffing for the new facility.
To sponsor a hole, businesses, groups or individuals can pay a $250 sponsorship fee. That fee would put a sign on the hole for the sponsoring business, and would be renewable after a 2-year period.
“I have to give a big thank-you to Mike Riley or Riley’s RV World, who texted me over the weekend with his interest in the course, and the idea to sell the hole sponsorships,” commented Mayor Teresa Cantrell. “We’re just putting it out there for businesses to consider this very affordable advertisement, and as a way of partnering with others in the community who want to provide family-type entertainment for our citizens.”
Mayor Cantrell reported that after posting it in social media, within about thirty minutes, she had six sponsorships. Already committing their sponsorships of holes with that first announcement are: Riley’s RV World, Jackson Purchase Medical Center, Green Acres Healthcare, Arby’s of Mayfield, McClain, Baugh & Sims Insurance, Neely & Brien, and Heath Building Supply.
“We are thrilled with the interest in this project and look forward to the next couple of weeks when we will be opening the facility to the public,” commented Mayor Cantrell. Planned hours of operation for the remainder of this year (season probably closing at the end of October) will be Monday through Friday from 5-9 pm, and Saturday from 3-9 pm. Special times for groups like schools, family reunions, etc., can be made by arrangements with the Mayor’s Office.
Anyone interested in sponsoring a hole at the miniature golf course can contact the Mayor at tcantrell@cityofmayfield.org, or by calling 270-251-6251.
