GRAVES COUNTY - A Graves County man and woman were arrested Tuesday on drug and other charges.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office said deputies were dispatched to a theft complaint in Hickory. Deputies were informed that the suspect, 37-year-old April Pettigrew of Mayfield, had left the scene in a vehicle and was headed toward Mayfield.

Deputies recognized Pettigrew’s name and knew there were outstanding warrants for her arrest. A deputy located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop. The driver was identified as 51-year-old Shane Chapman of Mayfield. The passenger told deputies her name was Tiffany Ann, and did not have any identification.

During the investigation, deputies confirmed that the woman was in fact Pettigrew. Pettigrew was arrested on a charge of giving an officer false identifying information. She was also arrested on three outstanding warrants from McCracken County and two from Graves County.

Deputies allegedly found methamphetamine and syringes in Pettigrew's belongings. She was additionally charged with possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. Chapman was arrested on a charge of hindering prosecution.

Both were lodged in the Graves County Jail. Deputies said their investigation revealed no theft had taken place.
