Mayfield Police Arrest Man on Marijuana Charges

Police arrested a man Thursday in Mayfield on marijuana charges.

The Mayfield Police Department said officers responded at around 9 p.m. to a report of a suspicious person at the intersection of South 6th and East Farthing. An officer saw the man, 21-year-old Andrew Shoemaker, walking along Paris Road. Police said the officer could smell marijuana, and that Shoemaker admitted to having the drug. 

During a search, officers said they found a small plastic bag with suspected marijuana and a rolled joint. Shoemaker is charged with public intoxication, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
