According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, a truck loaded with equipment is stuck in the northbound US 45 connector ramp to the Purchase Parkway at Mayfield. This is the lane that connects US Highway 45 to the northbound lanes of the Parkway at exit 21.
A wrecker capable of removing the truck arrived on Tuesday and has started working to free the truck, which is covered in snow and ice.
Regardless of when the truck is removed, extreme low temperatures will hamper KYTC crews from treating the ramp and surrounding area. Officials say for the sake of driver safety, this connector ramp will remain closed until Wednesday morning.
The suggested detour is via US Highway 45-Business, which goes through Mayfield.
