According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the Hardin Dollar General Store in reference to a shoplifter. When deputies got there, the store manager told them that the shoplifter was still in the store. Deputies found the woman as she started to leave the store.
Police said the woman, 27-year-old Pracilla Preuett of Mayfield, had stolen merchandise concealed in her purse. She reportedly tried to flee the store on foot but was detained by deputies.
Preuett was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking under $500 and fleeing or evading police.
