Deputies said a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Sandra Ford of Mayfield was southbound on KY 97 and thought the intersection at KY 94 was a four-way stop. According to deputies, Ford failed to yield the right of way to another vehicle driven by 58-year-old Carol Yates of South Fulton, TN who was westbound on KY 94. Yates attempted to avoid the collision by swerving to the left, but was unable.
Ford was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. Ford’s seven-year-old daughter was in the back seat and was uninjured in the crash. Yates was also uninjured.
