McGuire Collecting Supplies for Hurricane Relief
By West Kentucky Star Staff
MARSHALL COUNTY - The Marshall County Sheriff's Office is collecting supplies for victims of Hurricane Laura in Cameron, Louisiana.

In a Facebook video, Marshall County Sheriff Eddie McGuire announced the Marshall County to Marshall Street supply drive.

The effort began after McGuire learned that many of our local first responders and western Kentucky residents were helping with the hurricane relief and in need of supplies.

They are looking for donations of 5,000/6,000 watt generators, steel chainsaws, two-cycle gasoline, chain oil, AC units, tarps, and cash. The supply drive will run through Saturday, and they will depart to Louisiana on Sunday afternoon.

McGuire's initial goal was to fill a 16 foot long trailer with supplies. However, due to the outpouring of support from the community, they have since had to upgrade to a larger trailer.

Anyone with questions can contact the Marshall County Sheriff's Office on Facebook, or call McGuire directly at 270-703-1751.
