Mechanical Issue Shuts Down Dorena-Hickman Ferry

The Dorena-Hickman Ferry temporarily was forced to halt operation about noon Friday because of a mechanical issue. 

The ferry is expected to remain out of service for the remainder of the day while a mechanic makes repairs. They will notify the public and media when it resumes normal operation.

The Dorena-Hickman Ferry connects KY Highway 1354 at Hickman, Kentucky, with Missouri Route A and Route 77 near Dorena, Missouri. It operates during daylight hours from the Hickman Landing.
