Prosecutors will seek a life sentence for a man charged with murdering a Mayfield woman three years ago.

During a trial review this week in Graves County, prosecutors said they will seek life in prison for Ezell Miller. Miller's attorneys asked the judge for more time to prepare for the case. Miller's case was removed from the March 5 jury trial docket and set for a review on March 11, at 9:00 am.

Miller is charged with the 2016 fatal shooting of Lauren Alexander. Mayfield police found Alexander inside her West Hale Street home with a gunshot wound. Officers also found Miller at the home.

Alexander was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center, then to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN where she later passed away.

Miller is charged with murder, 1st degree burglary, tampering with physical evidence, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and 1st degree wanton endangerment.
