Police have released additional details about a fatal crash Monday afternoon in Cadiz.

Police told WKDZ the three-vehicle crash happened around 3:20 pm on US 68 in front of El Bracero Mexican Restaurant. Responders arrived to find a utility pole cut in half, and one driver dead.

Kentucky State Police said the investigation showed 55-year-old Richard M. Manning of Cadiz was westbound on US 68 in the left lane, when for an unknown reason his vehicle rear ended another vehicle being driven by 40-year-old Lilly M. Wease of Cadiz, causing her vehicle to spin out of control and go into the median.

Manning's vehicle then went down an embankment, crossing onto Merchant Street and hitting another vehicle driven by 64-year-old Patrick D. Karrigan of Cadiz.

Manning was pronounced dead at the scene by the Trigg County coroner.

The crash cut power to more than 700 Pennyrile Electric Customers for several hours, and closed both lanes of US 68 near the intersection of the Cadiz Bypass and Main Street, along with Commerce Street and Merchant Drive in the Tollgate Shopping Center area.
