Motorcycle Hits Car on I-24 Bridge, Hurts Riders
By WestKyStar Staff
MARSHALL COUNTY, KY - An accident on I-24's Tennessee River Bridge involving a motorcycle and a car injured two people Friday afternoon.

Marshall County Sheriff's Department says John Ryan of Chicago, IL was driving a car in the eastbound lane when he began slowing down due to the construction zone ahead. A motorcycle driven by Michael Pyatt of Bonne Terre, MO could not stop in time, and struck the back of the car.

Pyatt was taken to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of his injuries, and his passenger, Shannnon Pyatt was taken to Evansville by Air Evac. Ryan was not injured.

Traffic was backed up behind the bridge while the scene was cleared, and lane restrictions in Livingston County for construction lengthened the thinning out of congested traffic.
