A motorcyclist and his passenger were hurt when they rear-ended another vehicle Friday morning.

At 8:25 am a Marshall County Sheriff's Deputy came to the intersection of U.S. Highway 68 and George Clark Road south. He determined that 33-year-old John A. Carmichael of Benton was westbound and slowed to turn left, when his vehicle was struck from behind by a motorcycle ridden by 48-year-old Jay A. Scarborough of Murray. Scarborough said he did not see Carmichael's vehicle slow down.

Scarborough and his female passenger were taken to Lourdes Emergency Room by Marshall County EMS for treatment of injuries.
