A western Kentucky high school basketball coach faces rape charges.

Thirty-year-old Kwen Trice, a Murray High School assistant boys’ basketball coach, was arrested by Murray police on Friday. He’s charged with five counts of third-degree rape. All five counts allegedly involve the same MHS student.

Trice also works for Murray Independent Schools as a teacher’s assistant. He’s been suspended without pay while the process plays out in court.

Trice has been an assistant boys' basketball coach at MHS for the past three years. He also coaches a girls AAU basketball team.

Trice was lodged in the Calloway County Detention Center on Friday but is free on a $20,000 cash bond.
