Murray Man Arrested After Cache of Weapons Found

A Murray man was arrested Sunday on weapons charges.

Kentucky State Police says 48-year-old Ray Powers, of Murray faces 18 counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and eight counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. While investigating information received by Kentucky State Police, Trooper Jody Cash reportedly discovered that Powers was in possession of 18 long guns and eight handguns, as well as body armor, other explosives paraphernalia, and ammunition. 

Powers was additionally charged with trafficking marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia and booked into the Calloway County Detention Center.
