Murray State University has announced plans to change its graduate tuition and fee model for the upcoming academic year.

According to the university, most graduate programs will cost residential students $544 per credit hour (with nine credit hours per semester considered full-time). Some graduate programs will be reduced to as low as $375 per credit hour. Doctoral programs, with the exception of the nurse anesthetist program, will cost residential students $590 per credit hour. The current cost for in-state residential graduate students is $528 per credit hour, with non-residents paying $1489.50. The new model will reduce non-resident tuition to $800 per credit hour.

Dr. Mark Arant, provost and vice president of academic affairs, says the new graduate tuition model is expected to make graduate programs more affordable for many students.

The University Board of Regents is expected to review the proposed rates on May 11. If approved, the new tuition model will take effect this fall.

A complete list of the proposed new graduate tuition rates is available online at murraystate.edu/gradtuition.
