Murray Woman Charged in Theft Investigation

A Calloway County woman was arrested Wednesday on theft charges. According to the Murray Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle at 12th and Chestnut Streets that matched the description of a vehicle involved in some recent area thefts.
Officers said the driver, 20-year-old Samantha Williams of Murray, was in possession of approximately $1,600 in property that had been reported stolen from a parked vehicle on Tuesday. Williams was arrested and lodged in the Calloway County Jail.

She’s charged with theft by unlawful taking more than $500, receiving stolen property under $500, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence. Police said more charges are expected in the case.
