Rivers Bend has announced nine recoveries and no new cases of COVID-19 at the facility.

In a Friday press release, Rivers Bend Retirement Community administrator, Stacey Bullock, announced that three staff members and six residents who had previously tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered. There are currently no active COVID-19 cases at the facility. Any residents that had previously been hospitalized due to the virus have returned.

In March, Rivers Bend was one of the first facilities in the state to discover a positive case of the virus. Rivers Bend staff say their early, extensive, mass testing allowed them to detect, isolate, and stop the spread of the virus in their community.

They shared their appreciation for the health departments, government officials, emergency services, and hospitals that have contributed to helping aggressively address those in the community that have been effected by the virus.

"Staff at River’s Bend will continue to follow safety protocols from the CDC and state health officials including wearing personal protective equipment, conducting diligent screenings for signs of reemergence of the illness, and consistent sanitation practices," Bullock said.

Their residents will continue to be isolated as a precaution. Friends and family are still not allowed to enter the building to visit, although they have set up visitation stations outside of the facility for safe interactions.
