Lyon County Judge-executive Wade White is calling this  year's changes at the Land Between the Lakes a "positive turnaround.''

The Paducah Sun reports improvements to campgrounds,  trails and other recreational facilities at LBL have been a few of the changes  that area residents and visitors have called for during an ongoing discussion  between the public and the Forest Service regarding the future of the area.

White has led a campaign aimed at encouraging the Forest Service to reconsider  its plans for scenery changes and to make improvements to public facilities at  Land Between the Lakes.

Among some changes, the Forest Service recently replaced two shelters at the  Hillman Ferry Campground. White says some new road and bridge construction is in  the works, and the Hematite Trail is slated for improvements.
