One Hurt When Motorcycles Collide in Eddyville

LYON COUNTY - One person was injured in a collision in Lyon County involving two motorcycles Wednesday morning.

WKDZ reports that the collision occurred on US 641, 2.5 miles north of Eddyville.

Two motorcyles, driven by 58-year-old Billy Marvel of Marion and 62-year old Jon Shackleford, encountered stopped traffic near the Skinframe Creek Bridge. Deputies said Marvel had to stop abruptly and Shackleford, who was behind Marvel, collided with the back of Marvel's motorcycle, causing both bikes to overturn. 

Shackleford was transported to Baptist Health in Paducah for treatment of injuries. 

US 641 was closed for over an hour to clear the scene.
