One of Three Precincts in Sturgis Going Wet

STURGIS, KY - Voters went to the polls in the Union County town of Sturgis Tuesday to decide the issue of alcohol sales.
Each of three precincts in the town had a separate ballot issue, and any of those precincts could vote wet or dry.
At the close of polls, precinct #2 had the most decisive vote, and it was in favor of alcohol sales, with 122 yes votes and 108 no.
In precinct #3, the issue was defeated by a vote of 89-87, and in precinct #4 the vote was 107-104 against alcohol sales.
Sturgis in the only city in Union County that forbids sales of alcohol, and the county allows liquor sales, though it does have dry precincts.
