By West Kentucky Star Staff
MARSHALL COUNTY, KY - A Paducah man was hit by a car Sunday night in Marshall County.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says deputies were dispatched shortly before 10 p.m. to a report of a person walking in the road on US 641, south of Kentucky Dam, and another call about a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. Deputies said when they arrived on scene they learned that 50-year-old Teresa Gorham of Mayfield was northbound on US 641 when she encountered a man walking in the middle of her lane. She told deputies she did not see him due to his dark clothing, and was unable to swerve to avoid hitting him due to oncoming traffic.

The pedestrian was identified as 49-year-old Kenneth Pinnegar of Paducah. Deputies said they could smell a strong odor of alcohol on him. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
