According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened around 4:00 pm on US 68 West, near Sharpe. Deputies said a westbound car driven by 81-year-old Mary A. Read, of Paducah, made a left-hand turn and struck the passenger side of an eastbound vehicle driven by 51-year-old Virginia Beane, of Murray.
Both vehicles came to rest in a ditch. Read was taken by Marshall County EMS to Baptist Health Paducah to be treated for her injuries.
