KUTTAWA - Two people face multiple drug and theft charges in Lyon County after a report of a shoplifter.

Management at the Dollar General store in Kuttawa called the Lyon County Sheriff's Office Tuesday night to report they had detained 25-year-old Audreanna Swetland of Princeton for shoplifting. Before officers arrived, Swetland reportedly ran away from the manager and got into a pickup truck being driven by 19-year-old Troy Ford of Kuttawa.

As the vehicle fled the store’s parking lot, deputies said it nearly struck the manager. Officers located the vehicle and stopped it on US 62, and Swetland and Ford were detained.

During a search of the vehicle, officers reportedly found the stolen merchandise, along with approximately two ounces of marijuana, suspected methamphetamine, pills, digital scales, cash, and other items of evidence.

Swetland and Ford were arrested and taken to the Crittenden County Detention Center.

Swetland is charged with theft by unlawful taking, illegal possession of a legend drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.

Ford is charged with wanton endangerment, theft by unlawful taking, trafficking in marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
