A Sunday night pedestrian accident claimed the life of a Hardin man.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded around 6 pm to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on US Highway 68 East near Aurora. Deputies said Trevor Simmons of Cadiz was traveling east on US Hwy 68 when Jeremy Robinson of Hardin walked across the road into the path of his vehicle. Simmons attempted to avoid Robinson but was unable to and struck him.

Both Simmons and Robinson were transported to Marshall County Hospital where Robinson was pronounced dead by the Marshall County Coroner. Family members told police that Robinson was wearing headphones while walking when he was struck by Simmons' car.

The investigation is continuing but deputies said alcohol is not suspected at this time.
