A Calloway County attorney was arrested Monday after investigators say they found he kept more than $900,000 that belonged to his clients.
According to Kentucky State Police, detectives arrested 72-year-old Joseph W. Bolin, of Murray on two counts of theft by failure to make required disposition over $10,000, which is a Class C felony. The indictment warrant was issued after the case was presented to a Calloway County grand jury on November 6th.
The investigation reportedly began in the spring of 2018, when KSP was contacted by a victim that alleged Bolin had not made all the required disbursement payments relating to a probate case he was overseeing. The seven-month long investigation showed that Bolin failed to disperse over $900,000 dealing with multiple probate cases.
Bolin was taken to the Calloway County Jail.
