Former Teacher Accused of Sexually Abusing Student

MARSHALL COUNTY, KY - A former Reidland Middle School teacher is facing charges related to the alleged sexual abuse of a 14-year-old student.

On Friday, Detectives with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office concluded a joint investigation with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, and charged 24-year-old Chelsea D. Rose with possession of matter portraying a sex act by a minor, criminal solicitation of an unlawful transaction with a minor, first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor and third degree unlawful transaction with a minor.

Police said Rose had alledged sexual contact with a 14-year-old female student at a location in Marshall County. The investigation also reportedly revealed Rose provided alcohol to several juveniles at the same location. Rose was suspended from work and later resigned.

Rose was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Detention Center.

Police said the investigation is continuing.
