The Pearl of the Purchase District Fair kicks off Thursday with 4-H and FFA exhibits. Friday night, there's a farm feast, vendor and craft show and a 2-man calf sorting event.
But the big draw this year is Saturday night's pro rodeo at Mayfield-Graves County Fairgrounds. Graves County Judge-Executive Jesse Perry said 70 percent of ticket sales will go to Mayfield and Graves County schools' resource centers.
“We're just privileged to be able to try to give a little something back,” Perry said.
To officially kick off fair week, officials raised a giant American flag at the fairgrounds Wednesday morning.
