Purchase Parkway Reopened After Stuck Semi
By West Kentucky Star Staff
DRAFFENVILLE, KY - The northbound lane of the Purchase Parkway has been reopened between Draffenville and Calvert City after an errant semi was cleared from the median.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says Luis Chavez-Alvarado of Wyoming, MI, was traveling north on the parkway when a deer ran into the path of his tractor-trailer. Deputies said Chavez-Alvarado swerved to miss the deer and ran into the median.

The semi left the roadway about 6:30 am, near the 51 mile marker, close to the entrance of the construction zone at the intersection with I-24. The road was closed for about 90 minutes until two trucks pulled the semi back onto the roadway.

Chavez-Alvarado was not injured in the crash.
