A Puryear, TN man and juvenile were killed in a Monday evening crash near Murray.

At around 7:20 pm Monday, Kentucky State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on US 641 about three miles south of Murray.

Police said 39-year-old Noah J. Rogers, of Puryear, TN was traveling south on US 641, when for an unknown reason the vehicle drifted to the right edge of the roadway. Rogers then overcorrected and went off the left side of the roadway, striking several trees and overturning. Police said Rogers was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and was thrown from the vehicle. A 15-year-old juvenile passenger, also of Puryear had to be extricated from the vehicle. Police said the juvenile was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Rogers was pronounced dead on the scene by the Calloway County Coroner’s Office. The juvenile was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and was air lifted to another facility, where he later died. Police said speed was a contributing factor in the collision.

The KSP Accident Reconstruction Team is continuing the investigation.
