McCracken County Judge Executive Van Newberry says that, as of Friday morning, the burn ban that has been in place for weeks has now been lifted. The ban was in place due to extreme drought. July was the hottest month ever on record in Paducah.
Also, the burn ban that has been in place since late June in Marshall County was lifted Friday afternoon.
Lyon County’s burn ban was lifted Tuesday night. Officials lifted the Livingston County burn ban Wednesday morning.
Individuals are encouraged to stay alert to wind conditions when planning a burn project, most brush fire incidents occur due to burning on windy days. Note that regulations state all fires are to be manned until completely extinguished. Individuals burning can be held liable for all damages resulting from an out of control fire.
