Reckless Driving Call Leads to Two Arrests

MAYFIELD - A report of a reckless driver led to two arrests Thursday in Mayfield.

The Mayfield Police Department said officers were advised of a reckless vehicle traveling into Mayfield from Highway 80 East. An officer found the vehicle and followed it to the Lowe's Home Improvement store in Mayfield.

The driver, 42-year-old Peter West, and his passenger, 38-year-old Theresa Delavergne, both of Benton, exited the vehicle, and ran into the store. Police found both suspects in the store, attempting to hide.

Both West and Delavergne were arrested and taken to the Graves County Jail. West is charged with fleeing or evading police, improper turning, no operator’s license, failure to signal, reckless driving, disregarding a traffic control device and disregarding a stop sign. He was also arrested on three warrants for drug related offenses.

Delavergne is charged with fleeing or evading. She was also arrested on a probation violation warrant.
