The Mayfield operation will be consolidated into Remington's Huntsville, AL operation. Company officials said the closure is necessary to become more organizationally focused and competitive.
The closure will take place over the course of several months. The Mayfield facility has been in operation for nearly 20 years.
According to a Remington press release, employees will be given severance pay as well as offered a service which will help them find new jobs.
