Rep. Heath to Chair Agriculture Committee Again

MAYFIELD - Representative Richard Heath of Mayfield has been reappointed by leadership of the Kentucky House to chair the Agriculture Committee for the next two years.

“I look forward to continuing to offer solutions for our farmers that empower them to succeed, instead of being held back by excessive government regulation,” said Heath, who has a degree in Agriculture from Murray State University and currently operates Heath Building Materials in Graves County. “West Kentucky is the agriculture king of our great Commonwealth, and I look forward to continuing to give our farmers and rural communities a strong voice in Frankfort.”

The House Agriculture Committee deals with matter pertaining to: crops, livestock, poultry, tobacco, fairs, weights and measures, marketing, and more.

Heath, who is preparing to serve his fourth term in Frankfort, has chaired the committee for the past two years.

The General Assembly convenes for the 2019 session on January 8.
