This work zone is on the north edge of Mayfield is to allow the replacement of a failed concrete slab in the intersection.

This project will start on Tuesday with preliminary work at the site. However, most of the work zone restrictions are expected to crank up on Wednesday and continue through the day Thursday. This includes a traffic shift for northbound traffic on the KY 121 Bypass/Dick Castleman Expressway, in which all northbound traffic will be shifted to the right turn lane. This will prohibit left turns from KY 121 northbound to US 45 southbound at the intersection.

Once work starts on Wednesday morning, this work zone traffic shift and turn restriction will remain in place into Thursday afternoon.

Motorists should slow down and be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach the intersection on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Extra caution is required in this work zone were equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel will be along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
