Potential for More Flash Flooding Tonight, Tuesday
By West Kentucky Star Staff
WESTERN KENTUCKY -

The persistent weather pattern that keeps bringing waves of heavy rain through our region could continue into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service office in Paducah.

Their latest Hazardous Weather Outlook notes that there is a slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon, expanding across the area tonight. Locally heavy rain is possible, and a few storms capable of strong wind gusts cannot be ruled out over southeast Missouri into western Kentucky.

Tuesday, a few marginally severe storms cannot be ruled out over western Kentucky. Strong winds should be the main hazard. Scattered thunderstorms are possible the rest of the week, including the chance for a few strong storms.

A flood watch is already in effect across northwest Tennessee today and Tuesday. The possibility of heavy rains over already saturated ground could lead to localized flooding.

Monitor newscasts and NOAA weather radio, and be prepared to take action if flash flood warnings should be issued.
