The search continues for an Illinois woman who was swept away by strong currents in the Tennessee River last week.

Marshall County Emergency Management says numerous local agencies are aiding the Marshall County Rescue Squad in the search for 37-year-old Brandy Osborne, who walked into the river to meet a friend last Friday night. She hasn't been seen since.

Rescue crews continue to search the river and surrounding backwater areas. Multiple resources and technology have been utilized such as drones, drags, sonar and visual observers.

Marshall County Rescue Squad Chief Kurt Schmidt says ten vessels have been deployed on the water, along with teams on the ground and several K9’s.

"The Marshall County Rescue Squad truly appreciates all of the assistance from our mutual aid partners. We would also like to thank the local businesses for their support who have supplied meals and drinks for the agencies out here working.” Schmidt said.

Schmidt says search efforts continued Sunday, and will resume next weekend.
