A Sunday search of a Benton home has led to charges for three men.

On Sunday, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and Benton Police Department went to a Wadesboro Road home to serve a warrant on 60-year-old Billy W. West, of Benton. Deputies said they explained to West that there had been complaints of illegal drug activity at the home, and they said West consented to a search. During the search, deputies said they found two active meth labs in an outbuilding, along with items used in the manufacturing of meth.

According to police, another resident at the home, 30-year-old Shane T. Groves, of Benton had purchased pseudoephedrine in Murray on Sunday. They said Groves admitted to purchasing the pills and having a meth problem, but denied knowledge of the items in the building. Police arrested Groves and charged him with manufacturing methamphetamine 1st, possession of controlled substance 1st and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said 23-year-old Curtis R. Curry, who was also at the home fled and hid at a nearby home. Curry was arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and fleeing or evading police. The men were taken to the Marshall County Detention Center.
