Searches Net 3 Arrests on Separate Meth Charges

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department has arrested three people on separate meth-related charges in the last couple of days.

On Wednesday, a Detective assisted Probation and Parole officers in a search of a home on Yacht Drive. They say they found a syringe, corner baggie and burnt foil, and the syringe field tested positive for methamphetamine. They arrested 24-year-old Chase G. Barnes of Gilbertsville, charging him with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (meth) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Thursday, Detectives and Probation and Parole officers went to a home on Dunn Cemetery Road. A search there allegedly revealed a pen casing that field tested positive for methamphetamine, and a cigarette cellophane wrapper with white powdery residue. Police say 40-year-old Paul B. Holman admitted to using meth, and he was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (meth) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Also on Thursday, Detectives and Probation and Parole went to a home on Fulks Road in reference to possible drug activity of an offender. When they searched the home, they say they found a glass pipe containing meth residue, a small amount of crystal meth, digital scales, cut straws containing residue and 5 grams of “spice”, or synthetic marijuana. They arrested 56-year-old Mark T. Travis of Benton, charging him with possession of controlled substance 1st degree (meth), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a synthetic cannibinoid.
