Deputies said a car driven by 68-year-old Lula Janes of Mayfield was southbound on US 45 North when she turned onto Hunt Road in an attempt to make a U-turn. According to deputies, Janes pulled into the path of a semi driven by 37-year-old Robert Kemp, also of Mayfield. The semi, which was not pulling a trailer, collided with Janes' car.
Deputies said Janes was trapped in her vehicle and had to be cut out by mechanical means. She was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The driver of the semi refused treatment.
