Several Roads Under Water Friday
By WestKyStar Staff
Law enforcement officials discovered various roads in western Kentucky water-covered after heavy rains Thursday night.

Kentucky State Police reported that Sand Hill Road in northeastern Graves County was under water, and already had a car stranded in the water Friday morning.

In Lyon County, Poplar Creek Road in the Kuttawa area north of US 62 had water over the roadway.

Also, a section of McKendree Church Road in Graves Co. just off of KY301was reported to be underwater.

According to the Calloway County Sheriff's Departmant, Rayburn Road was closed early Friday from KY 893 to Caldwell Rd. in Calloway County, west of Murray near the Lynn Grove area. The closure was due to heavy overnight rains that washed away the road surface.

Up to three inches of rainfall were reported in the Kentucky Lake area Thursday night.  More heavy rains are possible in the forecast for Saturday.
