By WestKyStar Staff
PRINCETON, KY - An overturned semi-tractor trailer created a mess, and some delays on I-69 in Caldwell County Tuesday morning.
Kentucky State Police responded at 6:35 am, and found that 63-year-old Kenneth B. Hopper of Oran, MO was driving south on I-69 (formerly West KY Parkway) when he apparently fell asleep. The tractor-trailer left the right side of the highway, struck an embankment and rolled onto the passenger side near the 6 mile marker.
Hopper was wearing a seatbelt, and was not injured. He was cited for log book violations. Traffic continued in one of the southbound lanes, but there were some delays when the truck was uprighted. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet workers helped with traffic control in the area. The scene was cleared and normal traffic resumed at about 3:00 pm.
The Princeton Fire Department, the State Health Inspector, and the EPA assisted at the scene.
