SMITHLAND, KY - A Smithland man is in custody after an investigation showed he had inappropriate sexual contact with a minor.

Livingston County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 40-year-old Anthony Jewell, of Smithland, KY on Monday.  Jewell is charged with one count of Rape 3rd Degree and one count of Sodomy 3rd degree.

The charges result from a week long investigation conducted by the Livingston County Sheriff's Department which indicated that Mr. Jewell had inappropriate sexual contact with a female under the age of sixteen.

Mr. Jewell was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
