FANCY FARM, KY - The 132nd annual Fancy Farm Picnic is set for this weekend, and a number of political legends will be present for the affair, even though heavyweights Governor Beshear and Senator Rand Paul will not attend.
Organizer Mark Wilson says that Kentucky US Senator Mitch McConnell will be there, as will Kentucky US Representative Ed Whitfield, whose tenure in the house is being challenged by Democrat Charles Hatchett.
Also appearing, Speaker of the Kentucky House of Representatives, Greg Stumbo, and Kentucky House Minority Leader Jeff Hoover.
The political speaking will be emceed by Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner James Comer.
Wilson said both candidates from one race that he calls "hotly contested" will be there as well. "Senate district number one, that's the seat that Ken Winters will be vacating. We're gonna have Mr. Carroll Hubbard on the democrat side, and Judge Stan Humphries from Trigg County. They'll be sparring in that race right here."
