State Police Make Drug Arrest in Lyon County

EDDYVILLE, KY - A traffic stop on Interstate 24 Thursday resulted in the driver being arrested for drug trafficking.

Kentucky State Police stopped a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Clifford A. James, of Custer, WA, on I-24 in Lyon County for careless driving. During the traffic stop, a canine with Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement alerted on the vehicle and approximately two pounds of high grade marijuana was found inside the vehicle along with drug paraphernalia.

James was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana more than eight ounces but less than five pounds, possession of drug paraphernalia and carless driving. James was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
