"Do you want to know more in order to protect your kids? Do you want to help your child make better choices?” Parents who answer “yes” to those questions will have a special opportunity tonight because informed parents equal safer kids.

All families in the Purchase Area are invited to Symsonia Elementary School to enjoy a free dinner with their families and to receive information that could change their children’s lives! Graves County-Mayfield Respect Family Night is scheduled from 5:30-7:30 pm tonight.

Symsonia Elementary School has teamed up with community partners to provide an informative program for all families. The night will be centered around informing parents and children of the many pressures elementary, middle, and high school students face in their social circles.

The evening’s schedule includes a supper from 5:30-5:55 p.m. Opening session “Sharing My Story” from 5:55-6:20 p.m. Informational sessions from 6:20- 7 p.m. and a closing session on narcotics presented by a police officer from 7-7:30 p.m. Door prizes then will be given.

Adult sessions include “Parenting Frustrations,” “Communicating with you Child,” and Hidden in Plain Sight.”

Kid Sessions include: “KSP Canine Presentation,” “Trix Stix with Zachary Watson,” and “Graves County Library.”

The event also hosts a community-wide Prescription Drug Take Back Night. Bring along any expired or unused prescription drugs to be properly confiscated.
