MAYFIELD, KY - Despite the sentence, there'll be no jail time for a Graves County woman who entered an Alford plea to charges of taking money from both a local youth athletic group and her employer.
Michelle Taylor was sentenced in Graves Circuit Court Tuesday to three years in prison, but the sentence was probated for a maximum of five years, meaning Taylor will not serve any jail time. Taylor entered an Alford plea last month on 10 counts of theft by unlawful taking for taking $5,000 from the Mayfield-Graves County Baseball-Softball Association and $54,000 from Vegan Metal Fabricators.
The 10 counts of theft by unlawful taking were reduced to 10 counts of theft by deception over $500.
Taylor was also ordered to forfeit any items seized during her arrest and make restitution payments of $500 per month beginning in September.
